New dates to be confirmed Costs £125 per person This is a one day course led by experts, focusing on understanding ADHD, how to accommodate and get the best out of children with the diagnosis and preventing school exclusion. Over the day, we will cover what ADHD actually is, how teachers and TA’s can support children with ADHD, looking at strategies for the classroom, playground and school trips. We will also cover how to avoid school exclusion and how to make sure that any disciplinary actions you take are in accordance with the 2010 Equality Act. 1 - 2 - 3 Magic for Teachers 1-2-3 Magic is a successful behaviour training programme that is easy to understand and implement. It is very different from other programmes available, as it is a simple but powerful approach to managing challenging behaviour in the primary school. 1-2-3, offers techniques that are down-to-earth, child-friendly and make a dramatic impact in a short time. The programme teaches children to become good self managers. It was devised by clinical psychologist Thomas Phelan PhD, a parent to two challenging kids. It is used by EBD and mainstream schools alike. Teachers report it to be the simplest, faster and most effective behaviour intervention they have ever used.
